Guidelines for the social fund of the ÖH Leoben

The social fund of the ÖH Leoben was set up to support students in financial emergencies. We ask the applicant for understanding that the means of the social fund are limited and represent a voluntary support of the ÖH Leoben. There is no legal right to support.

Basic requirements for support from the Social Fund of the ÖH Leoben:

• Social need (the average monthly expenses are greater than the income)
• Sufficient academic success (as positive academic success: in the first semester the submission of the confirmation of enrollment, in the second semester the completion of at least 8 ECTS, in higher semesters the completion of at least 16 ECTS within the last two registered semesters)
• The financial emergency must have arisen through no fault of your own

The following documents must be enclosed with the fully completed application form:

• Copy of photo ID
• Confirmation of study
• Study sheet
• Proof of academic success
• Proof of income (income tax assessment from you and / or your parents)
• Complete account statements for the last three months (including current account balance)

• Current registration confirmation
• rental contract

• Receipts to prove your plight (e.g. invoices, letters of termination, proof of short-time work, medical confirmations, proof of treatment costs or similar)

The following documents are optionally to be enclosed (if available):

• All pages of the last study grant notification (including negative notifications)
• Proof of receipt of family allowance
• Proof of payment of tuition fees
• Proof of other scholarships
• Confirmation of support from other agencies or persons (e.g. Caritas, parents, etc.)
• Copy of savings accounts, current statements from savings accounts, copies of building society accounts, etc., credit card statements for the last three months
• Receipts for expenses and income

Basically: The financial emergency must be understandable and documented. Any notice that provides additional transparency about your financial situation should be enclosed!

Once we have received your full application, it will be processed within 4 weeks (we ask for your understanding that there may be delays during the semester break).

Incomplete applications must be rejected!

When processing applications and awarding grants, we follow the guidelines of the Social Fund of the Federal ÖH (https://www.oeh.ac.at/sozialfonds). Deviating from these guidelines, we also offer employees of the ÖH Leoben, students who still live with their parents and those receiving study grants, support from the social fund.
